Awkwafina

Awkwafina began as an American rapper and singer, releasing sly tracks that tackled questions of race and sexual identities with a funny twist. Prior to her move to Hollywood, she had the opportunity to perform a variety of tracks. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was from the trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop education began when she was in her teens. In the school, she focused on journalism and woman's studies. She studied Mandarin for a while in Beijing. Following graduation, she decided to pursue music as her main focus. Her 2012 track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet before settling on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. Other viral hits included the queef song and the winking NYC Bitchethe hometown tour for $. The latter track connected directly to another project, Awkwafina's NYC A travel guide that was released in 2015. Alongside being a published author, her other career was as a performer. In addition to early series like Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in movies Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored major roles in a variety of high-profile films such as Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she debuted her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
